Thanks for reading, Bridgette. It's been a long time since I've written this post...or any post, in fact. Not only was it a good reminder of the situation but also how much I used to love writing. Thank you.

Ms. Kelly, I recently had an in-depth conversation with my 12th graders about their pandemic experiences and this post came to mind. They basically echoed all of your sentiments ten fold. The pandemic imposed an unprecedented set of challenges on children, disrupting their routines, social interactions, and sense of stability. The resilience they’ve shown amidst these trying times is commendable, yet the impact of witnessing adult behavior during these moments was profound. The uncertainty, anxiety, and adjustments in the adult world casted a long shadow on the young minds observing them. Children are perceptive; they absorb the stress, fear, and emotional strain exhibited by adults, which can imprint lasting effects on their mental and emotional well-being. The way adults navigated the turbulence of the pandemic, their coping mechanisms, and the support systems they provide greatly influence how children understand and cope with adversity. Empathy, patience, and consistent reassurance from adults play a pivotal role in mitigating the potential long-term effects on children, fostering resilience, and instilling a sense of security during uncertain times.

Hi Ms Megan, I really admire the efforts and passion of you trying to create fun ways in order to improve your teaching practices. Even though I am not an educator, but I have learned something from your blog including the 4C’s interactive presentation tips which can be used during my presentation in university. To add on, I really love how you teach while focusing on real life problems. I took additional mathematics during my secondary school, and always feel uninterested in some of the topics as I think it only can be used in exams but not in real life. However, the digital games that you have created seem interesting to me as you have tried to relate it with a storyline. Thank you for the wonderful resources Ms Megan.

Thank you so much for your honesty and your words. The last two years have been extremely difficult and it has seemed, at every turn, more has been heaped upon teachers with less support. In particular, I can relate to your assessment of needing to find my passion again. The last couple of years have been a constant stream of changes, issues, uncertainty and unsteady footing. The adrenaline has been so high, and as we all know our bodies are not equipped to have this chemical running through it constantly. I can say with honesty that I have felt myself slipping into "nothingness" where I don't register anything, feel anything . . . in other words I go through the motions. The last few months, I have finally been able to breathe but in that process of coming down, now I'm not sure where to go.

Kahoot is a great way to get students engaged in learning in a fun, digital way. It can also be used as a study tool which I liked using in 4th grade with my students. Another game based learning website I would add to this list is Prodigy. Prodigy is an online game where students can “battle” each other by solving math problems. The greatest thing about Prodigy is that the teacher can set what standard the problems should be addressing!

Thank you for the use of your google templates. Your simple act positively impacted my ability to create. Although I am not an educator directly, my writing team (located in three different countries) are better equipped to track our zoom sessions, as we create an original scripted series. You likely never anticipated this impact which is why I wanted to thank you.
